To All The “Youngins”

To all the “youngins” … from a youngin 🙂

Here I am, 21… married, baby, and taking on life full force. It was a dream of mine starting at a very young age. I dreamed of being a young, stay-at-home (work from home) mommy. In 9th grade I started really praying and begging the Lord, if it be His will, to give me what I needed to fulfill that dream.

I did not know when, how, or if He would answer that prayer with a “yes.”

At the end of my 10th grade year, He answered my prayer.

A friend of my dad’s who also owns a wholesale sign company, had an online resale sign business. He was not interested in running it anymore as it was too much to go along with his business he already owned. He asked my dad who might he get to run it, or should he just shut it down. That summer I was given the rights to the business to run for myself. It was a God thing. That website allows me to stay at home with my baby, while still being able to help support my family financially. (Plus- I don’t know what I’d do without some sort of work, I love staying busy.)

I prayed for this life and I received it.

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Here’s what I am saying… PRAY. It will totally make a difference in your life. You may not get the answer you want, or in the timing you want, but He will answer; and if it is His will for your life, He will bless it. Just follow what you feel He is leading you to do with your life and pray without ceasing.

I knew it was what I was lead to do at this point. Yes, I was and still am young, but I knew if it was His will for my life, He would not let me fail.

Now, that being said, it has not been easy. Being a young wife, mom, and business owner takes a lot of hard work and time. It takes: patience, kindness, gentleness, and most importantly, love.

You know what all of those things remind me of? The fruits of the Spirit.

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Patience (Long-suffering)
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Meekness (Gentleness)
  • Self-Control

All of these things are vital to this life we are living. I believe why a good number of marriages and relationships fail are because of the fruits we lack.

The crazy thing about the Fruits of the Spirit are that they are done by us personally, but there is always a person on the receiving end. In a sense, you don’t grow/bear fruits on your own. There has to be another person. You can’t bear kindness without having someone to be kind to. You can’t have peace with someone unless there is someone to have peace with… you see where I am going? It is not all about us, and living our life personally. It is about the people we are living our life with. I believe the Fruit of the Spirit really portray putting others above yourself.

Put your spouse, kids, and other people above yourself; with God the head of your boat. Grow fruit, and pray for the ability and means to achieve your wildest dreams.

Dream. Pray. Grow

I hope to be an encouragement & help to anyone out there looking for something.
